Records of the Engineering Research and Advisory Committee (ERAC) documenting its coordination of the engineering research program in the Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation. Included are minutes, meeting materials, and correspondence with the Federal Highway Administration (FHA) and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). These concern the committee's work in developing solutions to transportation system operational and performance problems; evaluating new methods and materials of construction and operations; and developing specifications and design standards for materials and methods. In 1989, the Engineering Research and Advisory Committee was reconstituted as the Council on Applied Research (CAR).
